2013년, 대구 엑스코에서 개막한 ‘2013 대구아트스퀘어’에는 7개국 111개 화랑이 참여하였으며, 작가 750명의 회화와 조각, 사진 등 작품 6천500여점으로 꾸며졌다.
특히, 해외에서는 일본이 9개 화랑으로 가장 많은 참여율을 보였으며 일본의 현대미술 흐름을 가늠할 수 있었다. 일본 화랑과의 교류전은 ‘레드닷-일본 컬렉터의 선택’이란 타이틀 아래 일본에서 새로운 예술 트렌드의 하나로 주목받고 있는 키워드 ‘미술품 수집가’에 초점을 맞춰 전시회를 열었다.
대구아트페어의 국제화를 위해 해외 미술시장을 대상으로 일본 미술품 수집가의 선택과 수집가층의 다양성을 주제로 관람객들에게 다채로운 전시를 보여주었다.
