2010년, '2010 대구아트페어'가 미국, 영국, 프랑스, 일본 등 해외 갤러리 10개를 포함한 53개의 갤러리가 참가해 300여명의 작가 작품 3천여점을 선보였다.
대구아트페어가 준비한 특별전 주제는 '창작의 귀환'. 가격으로 결정되는 미술시장의 유동적 가치보다 미술 고유의 가치를 고민하는 작가들의 작품이 주를 이루었다. 이건용의 '창작의 여정'전, 전국 창작스튜디오 작가들의 '창작의 탄생'전, 영국 젊은 화가들을 소개하는 '블러드 오렌지'전으로 구성되어 관람객들의 뜨거운 관심을 이끌어냈다.
