2011년, ‘2011 대구아트스퀘어’에 2만 2000여명의 관람객이 다녀가는 대성황을 이뤘다. 대구아트스퀘어는 그동안 작품 전시·판매 중심으로 열렸던 ‘대구아트페어’에 실험성이 강조된 ‘청년미술 프로젝트’를 추가하면서 미술시장의 상업적인 측면에 순수 예술적인 분위기를 살렸다는 평가를 받았다.
국내외 105개 화랑이 5000여점을 출품해 역대 최고 규모로 이뤄진 ‘화랑기획전’ 외에도 ‘대구 원로작가 특별전’, ‘한일 교류전’, ‘중견작가전’, ‘현대조각전’ 등 다양한 기획이 돋보였다. 청년미술 프로젝트에는 15개국 45명의 젊은 작가들이 참여해 다양한 미술 장르를 망라한 신선하고 기발한 아이디어의 작품들로 호평을 얻었다.

In addition to the 'Gallery Project Exhibition', which was the largest ever held with more than 5,000 works from 105 domestic and foreign galleries, various projects such as the 'Special Exhibition of Daegu Elderly Artists', 'Korea-Japan Exchange Exhibition', 'Mid-career Artists', and 'Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition' stood out. In the Youth Art Project, 45 young artists from 15 countries participated, garnering acclaim for their fresh and original ideas covering a wide range of art genres.
