2009년, ‘2009 대구아트페어’는 국내외 유명 작가 400여명의 6000여점에 이르는 다양한 작품의 감상과 함께 미술 교류의 장으로 꾸며졌다.
국내외 총 81개 화랑이 참여하며 이는 작년보다 그 규모가 확대됐다. 또 일본과 인도네시아, 중국, 싱가포르, 독일, 미국, 스페인 등 20여개의 해외 화랑이 참여 의사를 밝혀 단순한 지역 미술 축제를 넘어 국제적인 아트페어로서의 초석이 마련됐다.
